Thank you for your interest in my practice.  The following
information is provided to answer general questions and to provide
a brief overview of the services that I offer.

Who I Am:  I am a licensed clinical psychologist who entered into
private practice in 2002. The majority of my clinical training has
been in the treatment and assessment of children and adolescents
and their families.  However, I also have experience in working with
adults in individual and couples therapy format, as well as
assessment.  (If you would additional information about my training
and experience, a copy of my curriculum vita is available.)

Celebration and empowerment of individuality and diversity is
consistently strived for in my practice.

Available Services:  I offer individual therapy and assessment to
children, adolescents, and adults, as well as couples and family
therapy.

When working with children and adolescents in individual therapy, I
utilize treatment strategies from a cognitive behavioral approach,
as well often employ the strategy of how to put more fun into
children’s lives.  This can occur by building coping skills, changing
maladaptive behaviors,  and building self-esteem.  It is important to
note that I do not believe that change can occur without the
support and participation of the adults in a child’s life.  As such,
input and participation by these adults is highly encouraged.

When working with adults in individual therapy, I utilize treatment
strategies from a cognitive behavioral, as well as interpersonal
approach.  I highly encourage adults to be active participants in
therapy and examine how the client therapist relationship can be
used to making positive change and bring about balance to an
individual’s life.

When exploring individual issues, it is often discovered that differing
types of therapies would also be beneficial.  This includes family,
couples, and group therapies, as well as complimentary forms of
treatment such as massage therapy, eastern and western
medicines, nutrition, and exercise.  I work with other professionals
in the community to coordinate these services if needed.

Assessment: A large portion of my practice is providing
psychological assessments for children and adults.  Children are
often assessed for issues such as developmental delays, school
failure or difficulties, attentional difficulties, or emotional and
behavioral issues.  Adults are assessed for similar reasons such as
emotional or behavioral difficulties, determination of disability,
learning issues, or cognitive difficulties.

It is important to note that I am not a forensic psychologist who
specializes in assessment for the purposes of court related
activities.  If you need a forensic psychologist, I would be more
than willing to help refer you to a psychologist who can best meet
your needs.

Fees:  My practice is primarily a cash based practice.  I will be happy
to provide you with a statement that you may submit to your
insurance company for reimbursement.   My therapy session rate is
$115 and I do have an income based sliding scale to help provide
access to mental health services.  Fees for psychological
assessments are dependent on the extent of the assessment and
will be discussed on an individual basis.  In addition, I provide
services for Medicaid and Peachcare, as well as several EAP
programs.
